Across the Pacific, it touches Japan, including Kyoto, famous for its ancient temples and traditional tea ceremonies. Farther west, it crosses the Korean Peninsula. South Korea's landscapes range from coastal wetlands, home to migratory birds, to mountainous areas home to Asiatic black bears. In Europe, 37° north latitude crosses the Mediterranean Sea and touches Italy and Greece. The Mediterranean climate supports olive trees, vineyards and marine life. Inspired by 37° North Latitude, we found a corner of the world and handmade it into a moss-tufted carpet, hoping to connect the rich culture, landscapes and stories along this line.
