About the Ware • Each piece is handcrafted, making every item unique due to variations in clay, glaze, firing temperature, and methods. • Due to numerous variables during the firing process, slight warping of the rim may occur, which is normal. • Glazes are applied by hand, resulting in uneven thickness and unique effects for each piece. • Minor pinholes, air bubbles, or particles occasionally appearing on the glaze surface are not considered defects and cannot be returned or exchanged. • If the glaze exhibits a crackle effect, fine cracks will appear. Staining may occur when holding deeply colored foods, which is also a characteristic of the glaze. ⸻ About Crackles • Also known as "crazing" or "ice cracks," these occur because the ceramic body and glaze have different shrinkage rates. The cracks are only in the glaze layer; the body itself is flawless. • Some cracks may appear within a week of firing, while others might take years to manifest.
