<Unique beauty that brings you happiness>
The material for this creation is kimono fabric with auspicious patterns, carefully selected from thousands of pieces stored away in chests. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted with the wish for happiness for the person who receives it.
<Japanese Gifts>
Utilizing kimono fabric stored in chests, we create beautiful and charming items from small fabric scraps, adhering to the local saying from Watari Town, Miyagi Prefecture, passed down by elderly women: "Do not discard cloth that can wrap three adzuki beans." These are also cherished as gifts for small tokens of appreciation or greetings.
<An Item to Adorn Your Back>
This hair accessory seamlessly complements kimonos and yukatas, as well as any other attire. It allows the wearer to express their individuality. Beyond being a retro-modern hair accessory, it can also be used as an armband or book band, proving useful to have on hand.
<A Symbol of Good Fortune: Auspicious Patterns>
These are celebratory patterns used as "symbols of good fortune" for their auspiciousness. Understanding the meanings of Japanese patterns connects us to the profound depth of Japanese culture inherited from ancient times.
<Fan Pattern> "Rising in Status," "Improvement in Skills." The fan, with its spreading auspiciousness, and its variable form, is also called "Suehiro" (meaning spreading out) and is a familiar, lucky pattern.
<The Joy of Gazing, The Pleasure of Collecting>
The kimono fabric adorned with auspicious patterns that delights the eyes is an item that brings images of happiness just by looking at it. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Let's Contribute to Clothing Upcycling Together>
At WATALIS, we have collected and remade over 12 tons of old kimono fabric to date.
By picking up our creations, kimono fabrics that lay dormant in chests across the country find new roles. We are active with gratitude towards our customers who help us spread the cycle of upcycling.
We introduce our regional resource upcycling initiatives in a video.

<Notes on Purchase>
*As all items are handcrafted, please understand that each piece is unique and may vary slightly in size, shape, and pattern.
*Very rarely, if we acquire kimono fabric in exceptionally good condition, we may create multiple items from the same fabric. Please understand that the pattern placement may differ slightly from the photo due to the cutting position of the fabric.
*Please note that colors and textures may appear differently on screen compared to the actual product. If you have any concerns, please inquire or refrain from purchasing.
*As the kimono fabrics used as materials are often used and lack labels, their materials cannot often be identified. We thoroughly inspect and process the fabrics, including washing, before remaking them. Please handle with care, as some fabrics may cause color loss or shrinkage when wet.
*As we also sell on other sites, please forgive us if an item is sold out.
