|About the Piece| This pedestal plate is made from American black clay, which contains fine temper particles, giving it subtle, barely visible white specks within the dark ceramic. These specks add a layer of depth to the black pottery. As this is a handmade ceramic piece, there may be slight variations of 1-2mm in flatness, which do not affect its fundamental use. The surface is unglazed, so it is not recommended for direct contact with food. It can be used as a stand for teapots during tea ceremonies or as a decorative tray.
