[What is vegetable tanned leather? ]
As the name suggests, vegetable-tanned leather is made using natural vegetable tanning, using tannic acid liquid extracted from plants. This type of leather is characterized by a light brown surface, low elasticity, and stiff ribs. The tanning method involves soaking the leather in tanning agents of different concentrations multiple times, which can take up to 45 days or even 2 months. It is a very time-consuming tanning process.
Why bother using it? Because it has several unique advantages
• Environmentally friendly - Contains only pure natural plant ingredients and no longer contains chemical ingredients contained in other tanned (such as chrome tanned) leather, making it truly environmentally friendly.
• Naturalness - The surface retains its own grain, luster, and the natural appearance of the cowhide's own scars and warps. Its luster is soft and transparent. With use, its brightness will become softer and brighter, and gradually become darker.
