→ Product Introduction Wood firing, one of the most ancient methods of ceramic production, primarily uses wood as fuel. It requires four days of firing to reach the target temperature. The ash and oils from the burning wood then become the unique outer layer of each wood-fired piece, known as ash glaze. The artistic value of wood firing speaks for itself. The distinctive ash glaze ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly alike, making uniqueness its most revered quality. Thus, wood-fired creations best showcase the artist's personality and highlight the collector's discerning eye for art. Wood firing can be broadly categorized into unglazed and glazed firing. Unglazed ware is fired directly on the clay body without any glaze, revealing the most rustic texture of wood firing. Glazed ware, on the other hand, builds upon the natural ash glaze with the addition of various glazes, resulting in an even greater diversity of finishes. Beyond its artistic merit, wood-fired ceramics, due to the natural carbon deposits during firing, enhance the flavor of water and tea, making them sweeter and more refreshing.
