However, with the rise of textile industries in Southeast Asian nations and the westward expansion of Taiwanese factories, the textile sector has gradually declined. In Huwei, Yunlin, known as Taiwan's "textile town," the number of factories has dwindled from over 200 during its peak to fewer than 50 today. Most have transitioned to producing functional fabrics or textiles made from eco-friendly materials, resulting in a low proportion of "Made in Taiwan" towels and handkerchiefs in the market. Philosophy Two: Supporting Taiwan's Embroidery Industry While computer embroidery initially replaced manual labor and achieved considerable success during the early stages of industrialization, shifts in the industry and a decreased demand for embroidered products have led many embroidery manufacturers to relocate their factories to Southeast Asia. Consequently, Taiwanese-made embroidered products are becoming increasingly rare.
