S-3 Flight Jacket White Bear Patch Air Force Jacket Thickened Wool Lining Unisex Warm

This RED TORNADO jacket is a reproduction of the FW S-3 Polar Bear winter jacket. The S-3 is known as the Navy's version of the B-3. During World War II, US Navy personnel stationed in the extreme cold of Alaska wore the B-3 jacket. At that time, the Navy adopted the roaring polar bear as its emblem, a classic element that continues to this day. This Polar Bear S-3 jacket faithfully reproduces FW's heavyweight, tear-resistant white jungle cloth, consistent with FW's fabric. It is denser than the US military's original N-1 version, which featured a single-sided corduroy weave. FW has upgraded this to a double-sided corduroy weave, with wider and thicker ribs, reaching a weight of 440 grams, offering excellent warmth and wind resistance. It is accented with the signature deep khaki color for pocket contrast. The khaki fabric has undergone garment washing, revealing a distinct aged effect. The lining is made from a blend of 30% alpaca wool and 70% sheep wool, with increased weaving density. The wool and alpaca fibers are evenly distributed, providing excellent warmth and comfort. The placket features a full cotton double-woven "Jungle Cloth" twill tape wrapping the entire alpaca wool placket, ensuring substantial warmth and preventing wind from penetrating. The polar bear emblem is created using an imported embroidery machine for scanning and weaving, resulting in a clear and intricate pattern with reinforced stitching. The hardware includes custom vintage TAYLON zippers and vegetable-tanned, oil-waxed leather pull cords. The custom-dyed fruit buttons each bear natural, ring-like textures. The electroplated buckle fasteners on both sides of the hem are also 1:1 reproductions. This jacket is exceptionally warm and heavy, weighing close to 2.3 kilograms, making it suitable for extremely cold climates.
