The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns“ For our fifth anniversary creation, we've chosen sunstone from the triclinic crystal family. The warm orange-red hematite and goethite within the stone appear granular or flaky, dazzling as its name suggests. However, compared to the more popular gold sunstone, I opted for black sunstone, which appears subdued yet mesmerizing. Its eclipse-like peculiarity, with subtle silky threads and a cat's eye phantom, resembles a tranquil lake stirred by a gentle breeze, creating shimmering ripples. While holding these mineral stones, I recalled a series of Symbolist paintings I saw years ago at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York: "Isle of the Dead" by Arnold Böcklin, painted in June of the late 19th century.
