The crystalline glazes vary distinctly in color, offering beauty and novelty. The crystal formations can be large or small, with numerous classifications such as dotted, chrysanthemum-shaped, radial, water-flower-like, star-shaped, needle-like, and feathery, to name just a few. Crystalline glazed vessels have long been coveted by scholars and connoisseurs. In ancient times, due to many uncontrollable factors, potters throughout history exhausted their ingenuity and efforts, solely to achieve a single perfect piece of crystalline glazed ware. Today, with technological advancements, many variables in crystalline glaze firing have been brought under control. Nevertheless, it remains an extremely challenging and difficult type of ceramic to master. Beyond aesthetics, this piece is also designed for practical use.
