Red and white lidded accessory case

This lid is made using red ceramic clay, which has the warmth of pottery but also a slight roughness. I created this with the idea of creating a small storage case for rings, Clip-On, etc. This lidded item was made using a technique called hollowing out, which, as the name suggests, is a technique for hollowing out a lump of clay to create a shape. It is a highly flexible technique that allows for the creation at an early stage of shapes that would be difficult to achieve using a potter's wheel or string making, and its appeal lies in the soft curves and the feeling of the hand's mark that can only be achieved through something that is made by hand. It is finished with a lovely pink cherry blossom glaze and a white matte glaze. The area where the top and bottom overlap is unglazed, so you can feel the earthiness of the clay itself. Although it is not meant to be used with water, we have applied a waterproofing agent to prevent any water stains from forming. The item you receive will be the same as the product image. To avoid damaging your table as much as possible, the contact surface will be sanded down before delivery. Using various glazes and clays, I create a wide variety of pottery in different colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations. It is impossible to create two identical pieces, so although they may look similar, each piece is unique. I would be very happy if you could find your favorite.
