Jiurou Shanghao, a venerable establishment near Ren'ai Circle, specializing in Jiangnan-style delicacies! Founded in 1960, this legacy eatery has been a cherished name among long-time Taipei residents for its Jiangnan cuisine. From Huzhou zongzi and Ningbo tangyuan to wontons and fermented glutinous rice, they uphold traditional hometown flavors. During festivals like the Winter Solstice, Lantern Festival, and Dragon Boat Festival, the shop bustles with activity. People queue up for tangyuan during the Lantern and Winter Solstice festivals, choosing from a variety of flavors including jujube paste, peanut, sesame, fresh meat, and fermented glutinous rice. Each offers a delightful balance: the wrappers are soft and tender, while the fillings, like the sesame, are fragrant without being oily, and sweet without being cloying.

《About Jiurou Shanghao》
Founder Wu Chuansheng and his wife, Zheng Lizhen, opened their first shop in 1960 next to the Star Cinema on Heping West Road. The current main store is located at No. 69, Section 4, Ren'ai Road, Taipei City (near the Dunhua South Road traffic circle). With their commitment to quality ingredients and meticulous craftsmanship, they have carved out a distinguished reputation in Taiwan's culinary scene. Zheng Lizhen (Grandma Wu) shares that the name "Jiurou" was chosen to signify "long-lasting prosperity." For over 40 years, Jiurou Shanghao has been passed down through three generations, now flourishing with vitality. Beyond the nostalgic Ningbo rice cakes, fermented glutinous rice tangyuan, Huzhou zongzi, and wontons cherished by older generations, the modern Jiurou also offers exquisite Jiangnan and Shanghai cuisine. Through the passage of time, the Wu family's dedication to flavor remains unwavering, inviting you to savor traditional tastes and experience contemporary culinary artistry.
