【1960s Made in Hong Kong Advertisements】Postcards

In the 1960s, a multitude of "Made in Hong Kong" products not only permeated our daily lives but were also extensively marketed overseas. The 1961 promotional booklet for the "Hong Kong Chinese Manufacturers' Exhibition" ( a local exhibition co-organized by Chinese-funded enterprises) showcased advertisements from manufacturers and industrial products of the time. These products were diverse in style and were exported to various regions and countries, including Southeast Asia, Europe, and America. Although these advertisements from over sixty years ago come from an era when product photography was not yet commonplace, and the vast majority still featured hand-drawn illustrations and stylized fonts, they highlight the creativity and characteristics of the products. They not only reflect the aesthetic design trends of the time but also illustrate the history of different types of factories that were once distributed across various communities in Hong Kong.
