Vintage Dutch wall plate made by Société Céramique in 1945.
This plate was manufactured to celebrate the end of Nazi occupation (notice the trampled on Swastika flag) in the Netherlands. "Herrijzend Nederland naar vrede en welvaart" translates as "The resurrection of the Netherlands towards peace and prosperity."
This plate originates from the province of Limburg which interestingly, although being in the Netherlands had a strong French Heritage.
Société Céramique was founded in 1859, and it was incorporated into Royal Sphinx in 1958. This plate is in undamaged, fairly good condition with small production flaws, some wear as well as discoloration due to aging. The photographs are a part of the description.
