『SEIKO』 Quartz Women's Watch
Classic gold case x off-white dial x willow leaf hands x gold dot hour markers
~~SEIKO's invention of the quartz watch changed humanity's relationship with time.~~
In ancient times, buying a watch was akin to purchasing a car or a house, a symbol of success in one's career after entering society. This illustrates just how valuable watches were back then.
The key to making watches gradually more affordable, accessible, and wearable by everyone was the 1969 release of the world's first quartz watch, the Astron, by SEIKO. Although the Astron was as expensive as a car when first launched, within less than a decade, quartz watch technology was widely adopted, and prices became more mainstream.
From then on, "telling time" finally became a personal matter, and the era of looking up at clock towers just to know the time officially became a tearful memory of history.
