|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"One nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures one for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields, but they require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and harmonious properties. While its energy field might not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean. It offers only beneficial influences and helps to dispel negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified within jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAl[Si2O6], often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron. [2]
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Fundamentally similar to green, but rarer than other colors.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with its presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of bodily life activities, playing vital physiological roles throughout all stages of growth and development, from youth to adulthood and into old age. It is an indispensable macromineral essential for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases, and aiding in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. Chromium can increase insulin sensitivity in individuals with Type 2 diabetes, assist obese individuals in managing cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and is lost at a faster rate in individuals experiencing high stress. Therefore, these three groups particularly benefit from chromium.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the human intestines, with unabsorbed nickel mostly excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macromineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a nutrient necessary for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, with both having a complementary effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation in the body and is linked to the onset of many chronic diseases, especially cardiovascular disease mortality. Some studies have shown that people who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels is associated with a lower risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism in the human body, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron for smooth operation.
Medical research suggests that jadeite possesses powerful therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite not only helps prevent illnesses but can also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Relieving Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common symptom. The jadeite pendant emits energy that stimulates two acupoints on the chest, the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu," which, through continuous massage, can provide a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have properties that "clear middle-jiao heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair, benefit the five organs, calm the spirit, facilitate blood circulation, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements within the jadeite are absorbed by the body, nourishing a woman's skin and making her appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling relief: Jadeite's naturally cool property offers a soothing and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei was known to hold jade in her mouth during summer for relief from the heat. Since then, summer has been associated with a refreshing coolness. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to provide this cooling effect.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is its comforting effect when feeling down or stressed; gazing at jadeite can bring an inexplicable sense of emotional healing, as if receiving solace.
