Product Description: We begin by sourcing leather from the market. Upon receiving the hides, we meticulously inspect them for any damage, marking unusable areas. This initial process reduces the usable leather from 100% to approximately 85%. Next, we use pre-prepared paper patterns to precisely position and cut the usable sections of the leather. As a bag is composed of various shapes, the layout and cutting process can result in a further 30% material loss, creating small and large scraps that are too small for use. Once the leather pieces are cut, the crafting process begins... During production, occasional errors may necessitate redoing certain sections. The flawed leather pieces cannot be reused and are discarded. Sometimes, an error is only discovered towards the end of the process. In our commitment to providing the best to our customers, we will restart the piece, leading to the original leather being discarded. When you receive our handcrafted bag, the actual amount of leather used is significantly more than you might imagine! For example, a single cowhide, typically 12-15 square feet, can yield only about 1.5 small crossbody bags after accounting for all the cutting and waste. This illustrates why leather bags are priced higher than fabric bags, beyond the craftsmanship and time involved; a significant amount of leather is wasted in the creation of each piece. A utilization rate of 45% is considered ideal. Seeing these cut-off leather scraps always pains me. Leather, derived from animals and nature, is a precious resource, and I wish every inch could be utilized. However, our pursuit of product perfection sometimes requires this sacrifice. These scraps have been accumulating, filling three large boxes. I've always hoped to create small crafts from this valuable leather, turning it into usable items. Unfortunately, my ideas often outpace my actions. Now, I've designed this small crossbody bag, aiming for simplicity and ease of production, given my limited time due to fulfilling customer orders. This bag is not primarily for profit or to showcase my skills. It's an effort to minimize waste and cherish every piece of hide generously given by the cow. My deep affection for leather products is tempered by the awareness of this environmental impact, a fact that weighs on me. Therefore, minimizing leather waste is a personal commitment. I also hope that all fellow leather enthusiasts will treat their leather goods with care, allowing them to age beautifully. Previously, our shop offered an elephant-print cowhide shoulder bag. To avoid wasting the many imperfect pieces of cowhide from that production, we created this small crossbody bag, hoping to make good use of the remaining elephant-print leather. These bags are offered at a very accessible price. The leather surface will have imperfections, including creases, scratches, scars, stains, and insect marks – common issues with cowhide. These flaws affect the appearance but not the usability of the bag. This leather is available in three batches, with slight variations in color depth, thickness, and texture among them. If you purchase two or more bags, you may notice these differences. Additionally, this leather has a noticeable scent. We recommend airing the bag on a balcony for a few days after receiving it, and the odor will gradually dissipate. Please only purchase if you are comfortable with the aforementioned conditions. As always, this imperfect bag is offered with the principle of minimizing waste and cherishing resources. For light-colored canvas, use a slightly alkaline detergent, as acidic substances can cause yellowing after drying. For light colors like beige and khaki, after washing, cover the bag surface with tissue paper and remove it after drying to prevent yellowing. For canvas bags with leather accents, dry cleaning is recommended. 2: Color – Due to objective factors such as monitor/lighting differences and shooting effects, color discrepancies are inevitable. We strive to match the colors to the actual product as closely as possible; your understanding is appreciated. 3: The bags will be carefully ironed before shipping. Minor creases may appear due to transit bumps; hanging or ironing will resolve this. 4: Product – As most products are purely handmade, minor imperfections such as slight dust, marks, knots, or loose threads are unavoidable.
