Instead of firing in the electric kiln that I normally use at home, I had the pieces fired in a kerosene kiln at the pottery maker that I am currently using. The pottery is fired using a method called reduction firing, which creates an oxygen shortage inside the kiln during firing, allowing you to enjoy a refined flavor that cannot be produced in an electric furnace. The cute round shape is lovely, and when you hold it in both hands the curves of the bowl fit comfortably in your palm. It is well-fired and lightweight, making it easy to pick up and use. In addition to Japanese teas such as sencha and hojicha, you can also serve small Japanese dishes or add a little soup as a side dish. It can also be used to make matcha pudding, coffee jelly, etc. It can be used in a variety of ways. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and all processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand. Even though the same clay and glaze are used, each piece has a different feel, so you can enjoy the unique scenery that each one has. The item you receive will be the same as the product image.
