These are four-strand pierced earrings crafted with antique gold-red Whiteheart and turquoise blue chevron beads.
The deep red beads are antique beads known as Whitehearts, named for their white core. These beads originate from Venice, dating back to the 19th-20th centuries. Their deep red hue is achieved by using gold to create the coloration, hence the term "gold-red." These are rare, highly sought-after beads.
(Size of Gold-Red Whiteheart beads: 2-3mm)
The turquoise blue beads are antique Venetian beads called Chevrons. These feature a distinctive four-layer structure.
"Chevron" in English means "chevron pattern," referring to their layered design (known as "rosetta" in Italian). These beads are considered the "nobility" of beads, holding significant value and meaning.
Turquoise blue Chevron beads, in particular, are exceptionally rare and difficult to find!
The dull golden beads at the top are old Orissa brass. These are vintage brass beads sourced from the state of Orissa in India, making them a truly precious metal bead.
Tiny Karen silver beads are interspersed above and below each strand.
The beads are strung on waxed cord.
