These pretty long-stem dangle earrings are a product of our experimentation with different silver textures.
Two different silver square-shape pieces were cut from silver sheet. One of the squares was simply etched with the so-called "cat-fur" etching technique that the Thai Karen silversmiths traditionally use as a silver surface-treatment method.
We embossed the other silver square to create a sand-blast effect texture by passing a silver sheet together with coarse sand paper in a roll-mill that left the silver strip with this interesting pattern on one side. Thus treated silver squares were then gently pushed into a concave half-sphere mould, punctured in the middle and placed one in concave, and the other in convex way onto a sterling silver stem that is then attached to a sterling silver hook.
