Yunomi

This teacup was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath. This teacup was made from local Taiwanese clay and a beautiful light sandy colored glaze was applied. While still wet, I cut through the clay to create unique faceted sections that I hope add interest to the drinking vessel. My seal is stamped at the base of the pot near the trimmed foot ring. I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivated me to create functional items out of clay.
