Mandalay, Myanmar Pagoda-Retrieved Pagoda-Shaped Silver-Gold Alloy Amulet (Weight 14.8g)

(Weight 14.8g) This silver alloy amulet. Its material is the same as Thai Abaga alloy. It is a special alloy smelted from silver and gold as the two main metals, plus other metals. Many sacred Buddhist items from Thailand are inherited from Myanmar. This silver-gold alloy, when transmitted to Thailand, is called Abaga alloy. Wat Mongkol Bophit, a very famous temple in Thailand for wealth attraction and protection, its Phra Somdej Phra Pidta, created by Luang Por Boom in B.E. 2515 (1972), was cast from this silver-gold alloy material. Because the inherited alloy composition ratios vary, the silvery-white alloy also exhibits various shades of color and differences in light refraction. What's particularly unique is that this amulet's alloy often shows intersecting metal patterns at the bottom. This phenomenon, with intersecting metal patterns, was often seen in old Tibetan Buddha statues and meteorite sacred items (Figure A). The exact age is unknown. Estimated to be before the 19th century. The oxidized patina has been cleaned off. The amulet appears bright silver in photos, but if not polished regularly, it will oxidize and darken over time. The factory's drilling was not ideal, so it has been affixed to a stainless steel base. It can be strung and worn as a bracelet or a chest ornament.
