The red earthenware offers a rustic warmth and a pleasingly rough texture, characteristic of earthenware. After being shaped into a perfectly rounded yunomi, it was fired with a delicate off-white matte glaze and a golden yellow crystalline glaze. This vessel invites you to appreciate its charming, rounded form and the unique textures created by the clay and glazes. When cradled in both hands, the cup's curves feel natural against your palms. The interior, with its light, almost white hue, allows you to enjoy the colors of transparent beverages like sencha green tea or black tea. From kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, every step is done by hand. To protect your table surfaces, the base of the cup has been carefully smoothed with sandpaper. I continuously explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of ceramics in various colors and forms. To address this, all our tableware undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking. This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping window of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have the waterproofing treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - The color of the glaze can appear more white under natural morning light or cool white lighting, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned illumination. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - Product images are edited and photographed to be as true to the actual item as possible.
