This teapot was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath.
This pot was made from local Taiwanese clay and then an original glaze was applied. All my glazes are food-safe.
This piece was soda-fired. Soda firing is interesting and can be unpredictable. Soda is sprayed into the kiln during the firing. This soda turns to vapor and then makes its way around the kiln finding its way onto pots in random ways. This then turns into a glaze.
I attempted to make a unique teapot that will be individual to you. I twisted the clay throughout two thirds of the teapot. I also added an original lid knob for interest.
My seal is stamped on the inside of the lid.
I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivates me to create functional items out of clay.
Be the owner of a handmade teapot from the beautiful island of Taiwan.
