Each piece is handmade in a home studio equipped with a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel. Every step—from kneading the clay and shaping to biscuit firing, glazing, and final firing—is performed by hand. As these are not mass-produced, each piece has its own unique expression, showcasing the subtle charm that only handmade items possess. While in stock, you may choose your preferred piece, so please let us know your choice at the time of purchase. To protect your table surfaces, the base of each piece is polished with a file before shipment. Please note that this pottery may have small bubbles or surface irregularities in the glaze. In some cases, colors may seep into the crackle glaze (kannyu), or moisture may seep through. Therefore, we treat the pottery with a food-safe sealant before shipping, so no initial "medome" (water-tightening) process is required. Since the sealing process takes 2–3 days, please allow 5 days from order to shipment.
