The white beads are old seed beads, believed to have been made in Venice and traded to Africa (around the 19th-20th century). (Bead size: 2.5-3mm) The indigo blue beads are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads, with origins tracing back to the 2nd century BC. These particular beads are archaeological finds from Indonesia, dating back to approximately the 10th century – over 1000 years old! Upon closer inspection, you can appreciate a variety of blue tones. The golden beads are old Orissa brass, rare and ancient beads sourced from the Orissa region of India. The clasp features small Karen silver beads, each individually stamped – a testament to meticulous, handcrafted artistry that is truly awe-inspiring. ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This silver is crafted by a hill tribe living in Thai-Burma. Each piece is handmade, and the silver is said to be of very high purity. The clasp for this bracelet is made from a shell that was originally used as a fastener for an old tribal necklace.
