Japanese Satsuki Azalea - Akasenbazuru (Red Thousand Crane Feathers)
Its flowering period is 1.5 times longer than other Satsuki azaleas.
Each flower bud produces 2-4 blooms, with a gradient color from crimson to rose.
After three to four weeks, it will revert to its ancestral form,
gradually transforming into the yellow-green flowers of Senbazuru.
Azaleas are an introductory choice for bonsai cultivation.
This miniature bonsai has been cultivated locally in Taiwan for over 12 years,
embodying the appearance of a century-old tree.
Excess branches have been carefully selected and pruned, creating negative space between the branches.
Exposed roots are nurtured in spring.
The careful cultivation of partially exposed roots (Fig. 10) is a key aspect of its artistic creation.
The flowers and leaves are easy to care for and can be displayed with a shallow water tray.
This is a root-exposed bonsai that can be admired in the palm of your hand.
An Yixing purple clay octagonal wheel pot, held in the inventory of an old collector for over 25 years.
Planted in a shallow pot, it highlights the aged posture of the tree.
The bottom of the pot bears a maker's mark. The clay is fine and the pot's shape is precise, complementing the old tree perfectly.
