Japanese Satsuki Azalea - Akasenhbaku Boasts a flowering period 1.5 times longer than other Satsuki azaleas. Each bud yields 2-4 blossoms, displaying a gradient of crimson-rose hues. After three to four weeks, it reverts to its ancestral form, gradually transforming into the yellowish-green flowers characteristic of Senhaku. Azaleas are an accessible entry point into the world of bonsai. This miniature bonsai, cultivated locally in Taiwan for over 12 years, evokes the appearance of a century-old tree. Excess branches have been carefully selected and removed, creating a sense of negative space between the branches. During spring, exposed roots are cultivated. Artfully revealing and nurturing the exposed roots (Fig. 10) is a key aspect of its artistic creation. The flowers and foliage are easy to care for and can be displayed with a shallow water tray.
