This marked the first instance of a card specialty store becoming a Shoyeido distributor globally. Shoyeido, a renowned incense purveyor in Kyoto, Japan, was established in the second year of Hōei (1705). With a legacy spanning over three centuries and now passed down to the twelfth generation, they continue to craft incense using traditional methods and natural ingredients. Many of Kyoto's famous temples, including Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, Tō-ji, and Kiyomizu-dera, use Shoyeido's incense sticks. The incense souvenirs you purchase at these temples are also carefully produced by Shoyeido. All incense products are handmade in their Kyoto workshops, adhering to ancient techniques. Furthermore, Shoyeido maintains its commitment to using the finest materials for its entire product line, from incense burners to small incense holders and personal incense pouches, all manufactured in Japan. Despite Shoyeido's considerable recognition in Japan and abroad, they maintain a strict policy of having only nine directly managed stores nationwide, deliberately avoiding an increase in sales outlets or the use of franchise systems to ensure the highest quality of products and services. For their overseas locations, Shoyeido rigorously vets the business philosophy and practices of each distributor and intentionally limits the number of official distributors to preserve their century-old reputation. Although incense has no expiration date, to ensure enthusiasts in Taiwan can enjoy the freshest incense, I-Siang Cultural and Creative places orders every two months using a small-batch ordering system. These orders are shipped directly from the Kyoto headquarters to Taipei, guaranteeing the optimal quality of the incense. Moreover, thanks to the collaborative and trusting relationship with the headquarters, I-Siang Cultural and Creative is one of the few distributors authorized to sell Shoyeido's limited edition overseas incense and Japan-exclusive products. Consequently, I-Siang Cultural and Creative has introduced ten different product lines, featuring nearly eighty varieties of incense, alongside over sixty different incense holders, dishes, and burners.
