Japan's most renowned incense purveyor, [Incense Master Shoyeido], established in the second year of the Hōei era (1705), has a history spanning over three centuries. Now in its twelfth generation, the company continues to craft incense using traditional methods and natural ingredients. Many of Kyoto's famous temples, including Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, Tō-ji, and Kiyomizu-dera, use Shoyeido's incense. The incense souvenirs you purchase at these temples are also meticulously made by Shoyeido. All incense products are handcrafted in Kyoto workshops, following ancient techniques. Shoyeido's entire range of products, from incense burners to small incense holders and personal incense pouches, are made in Japan using the finest materials. Despite Shoyeido's considerable renown in Japan and abroad, the company maintains only nine directly managed stores across Japan, deliberately avoiding an increase in sales points or the use of franchise systems to expand sales volume. This ensures the highest quality of products and services. For its overseas locations, Shoyeido rigorously vets the business philosophy and practices of each distributor and strictly limits the number of official distributors to uphold its century-old reputation. While incense does not have an expiration date, to ensure that enthusiasts in Taiwan can enjoy the freshest incense, I-Sheng Cultural and Creative places orders every two months using a small-batch system. These orders are shipped directly from the Kyoto headquarters to Taipei, guaranteeing the optimal quality of the incense. Furthermore, thanks to the collaborative relationship and mutual trust with the headquarters, I-Sheng Cultural and Creative is one of the few distributors authorized to sell Shoyeido's limited overseas edition incense and Japan-exclusive products. Consequently, I-Sheng Cultural and Creative has introduced ten different product lines, encompassing nearly eighty types of incense, along with approximately sixty varieties of related products such as incense holders, ash catchers, and burners. This allows you to select from a wide array of Shoyeido incense products without needing to travel to Kyoto. Shoyeido incense holders are semi-handcrafted in Japan. Minor imperfections such as iron powder (black spots), glaze deficiencies, or unevenness may be present due to the hand-painted application. Additionally, the appearance of the glaze can vary due to the manual glazing process; fine powders may sometimes appear white, slightly reddish, or grayish. These are not defects and are safe to use. Variations in texture and color application are also characteristic of handmade items and should not be considered flaws. * As this is a fragile item, please handle with care.
