Vintage English bone china pastry plates from the famous Old Country Roses series made by Royal Albert.
Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name.
The Old Country Roses design was created by Designed by Harold Holdcroft in 1962. It was inspired by a typical English country garden with flowers in bloom. The back stamp style on these items was in use in 1990s. This set is in good condition with some possible surface marks due to usage and a little wear on the gold rim only. The photographs are a part of the description.
