Those who appreciate a vintage, nostalgic style may choose to preserve the aged patina of naturally oxidized brass. However, if left unworn or unmaintained, it can eventually turn almost black (similar to sterling silver). ◆ For those who prefer their brass jewelry to remain bright and new, the following care methods can help restore its color or slow down the tarnishing process. ◆ Frequent wear and natural friction can keep brass shining like new. However, areas that are not easily rubbed (such as crevices or grooves) may still darken. ◆ The most convenient and quickest way to remove oxidation is with **toothpaste / dish soap**. Add water to create suds and gently scrub or rub to restore the jewelry's shine in a short time. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. ◆ Dip a dry cloth in a small amount of brass polish/paste and wipe. This can quickly restore shine, and the protective luster created after polishing can delay the next oxidation. Remember to wash with dish soap again after polishing for a cleaner finish.
