Shino yunomi

This wheel-thrown yunomi was made in my small pottery workshop here in Taiwan. My workshop overlooks the Yamingshan mountain which is a constant source of inspiration. This pot was made from local Taiwanese clay and then a traditional Japanese glaze called shino was applied. A shino is typically a warm orange/white color. When the clay was still wet I impressed a groove dowone side of the pot to aid drinking pleasure. While glazing this yunomi I also added an iron brush stroke interest. I believe handmade pot should see evidence of the hand involved. My seal is stamped at the base of this yunomi. Be the owner of a handmade yunomi made from the beautiful island of Taiwan.
