Harapeko Megane is a husband and wife illustration unit consisting of Shinya Harada, born in Tokushima Prefecture in 1983, and Kaori Seki, born in Osaka Prefecture in 1982. Both of them graduated from Kyoto Seika University in 2005. After graduating from Kyoto Seika University in 2005, they worked as graphic designers before going independent as illustrators. In 2011, they formed Hungry Hungry Megane. In 2012, she made her debut as a picture book author with "Fruits Punch" (Nijino Picture Book Store). With the theme of "food and people," she is active in a wide range of activities including picture books, illustrations, and teaching workshops. She won the 9th Picture Book Award for "Yakisoba Banban" (Akane Shobo). She also received a special award at the 11th Picture Book Awards for "Minna no osushi" (Poplar Publishing).
