Made in Japan
Introduction to Kiyomizu-yaki
"Kyoto-yaki" is a pottery with the background of tea ceremony, which has been mainly spread in the foothills of Higashiyama since the early Edo period. On the other hand, "Kiyomizu-yaki" is pottery made at Gojozaka, the entrance to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Currently, all pottery fired in Kyoto is called "Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki"
This glaze, called crystal glaze, has the characteristic that crystals precipitate during the melting and cooling process, and the beautiful flower crystal (はなけっしょう) ware looks like flowers blooming on the surface. Most importantly, the crystals become larger and take on various shapes, and the same pattern cannot be made, so each piece is a unique work
