**《Jade Carving Artist Profile》**
Born in 1973 in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County.
Began studying jade carving in Taipei in 1988.
Studied Advertising Design in vocational school in 1993, integrating design concepts into his work.
Established his own studio in 1994.
Received an honorable mention in the Craft category at the 14th Nanying Art Exhibition in 2000 for his work "Waiting for the Opportunity."
Participated in a group exhibition of jade works at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in August.
Invited to exhibit and perform live carving at the Hualien International Art Festival in 2001.
Selected for the "Dream of Craftsmanship" award at the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition in 2002. Participated in a jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau in January.
Exhibited in a joint jade and stone carving exhibition at the "Flowers and Trees Carnival" in Changhua County in May.
Invited by the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Cultural Foundation and the Hualien Cultural Affairs Bureau for the "Grand View of Stones" exhibition, touring department stores in northern, central, and southern Taiwan from October to December.
Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecological Scenery" at the "Taitung Local Craft Exhibition" in the Presidential Office in 2003.
Featured in the National Education Radio's "Arts and Humanities Corridor - Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Carving Exhibition" from March to June 2004.
Received an honorable mention for "Dream of Craftsmanship" at the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition.
Held a solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from October 2004 to January 2005.
Invited by the National Taiwan Museum to exhibit his work "Taiwanese Snacks - Braised Pork Rice" in 2005.
Participated in the "Face of Sherlock Holmes Exhibition" in exchange with the National Museum of the Czech Republic from June to September.
Established the "Yu Ning Shi" brand and opened counters in department stores.
Exhibited at the Pacific Sogo Department Store's "Craftsmanship Masters" exhibition in mid-December.
Invited to participate in the "Craftsmanship Within Reach - Application of Living Crafts" exhibition hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute at the Executive Yuan Gallery in 2007.
His work "Japanese-Style Nigiri Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute in 2008.
In 2012, his work "Half Thought" received an honorable mention in the Traditional Craft category at the "Taiwan Craft Competition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. His work "Serene Mountain Landscape" received an honorable mention in the Craft category at the 21st Nanying Award in Tainan City.
Invited to exhibit in the "Gathering of Jade Carving Masters from Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2013, showcasing his work in the Taiwanese Jade Master section.
Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit his works "Japanese-Style Nigiri Sushi," "Handmade Small Mochi," and "Moment of Leaping" at the "Gathering for Warmth – Sustainable Craft Exhibition" in the Presidential Office Gallery in 2016.
His work "Lingering Lotus Spring" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan Art Exhibition in 2017.
Held a solo exhibition, "Xie Zhong-Ren's 30 Years of Jade Carving – Continuation of Culture," at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in 2018.
Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Presents Good Fortune" at the "Feast · Happiness" exhibition in the Presidential Office Gallery from January to June 2019.
Participated in the "Joyful Heart, Brilliant Art – Boutique Exhibition of the Taiwan Craft Development Association," jointly held at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16, 2020) and the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Craft and Design (October 6, 2020 - February 28, 2021).
His work "Japanese-Style Nigiri Sushi" was exhibited at the "Creative Regeneration: Green Craft" exhibition hosted by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute in October-November 2021.
His work "Handmade Small Mochi" was selected for the 2021 Taiwan Craft Competition and toured various locations, including the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Craft and Design, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Store, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Tainan Ximen Store, and Taichung Store.
