These keys were commonly used for early Qing Dynasty, Japanese colonial era, and Republic of China period cypress wood wardrobes, chests, drawers, cash boxes, etc. Besides brass, old keys were also made of cast iron, or formed from bent iron sheets. These are genuine Taiwanese antiques. Each key bears traces of use, with signs of rust, oxidation, and wear. The teeth of the keys are no longer sharp, and wear and tear are inevitable. Over time, their edges have become smoother and more rounded, adding to their rustic beauty. This patina of age is impossible to replicate. Photos are of the actual items.
