Charming Tiles: A Compendium of Taiwanese Traditional Ceramics + Color Swatch Card Set (Limited Edition Countdown)

**Charming Tiles: A Compendium of Taiwanese Traditional Ceramics + Color Swatch Card Set (Limited Edition Countdown)** This compendium explores four styles of Taiwanese ceramic tiles from the approximate period of the 1920s to the 1980s. From a graphic design perspective, these tiles are categorized by their shapes and patterns. The collection spans from the Majolica tiles adorning grand residences and Western-style buildings during the Japanese colonial era, to the smaller-sized tiles widely adopted after the Great Kanto Earthquake, and finally to the mosaic and printed tiles that emerged with the rise of the domestic ceramic industry in the mid-1950s, collectively forming the iconic architectural style of early Taiwan. The first half of the compendium delves into the history of these tiles, featuring photographs taken by the author across Taiwan and an analysis of the visual design context behind their patterns. The latter half presents 100 newly illustrated tile designs accompanied by Pantone color recommendations. These illustrations are available for free use in personal or commercial projects, provided proper attribution is given. The aim is to allow these precious tile patterns to inspire creators across various fields, extending their spirit and value. The color swatch cards include 100 selected designs of traditional Taiwanese ceramic tiles, each marked with its Pantone color code. Similar to the swatch books and paper samples familiar to designers, these cards are portable and can serve as a reference for ongoing creative work. These tile designs are available for personal and commercial use under a Creative Commons Attribution license. Dimensions: 21cm x 6cm x 3.3cm (including gift box) Inner page paper: 200 gsm Ivory Card
