The waistband is designed with a tie closure instead of elastic, allowing for an adjustable fit for all body types.
We've adapted the traditional attire of the Meena farming women of Rajasthan, who create kachua products, into a design that's easy for modern individuals to wear.
When you wear it and twirl, the hem of the skirt reveals a beautiful silhouette.
About the Fabric
A Landscape of Shepherd's Purse
We've designed this textile inspired by the plant known as shepherd's purse. In Japan, this plant is commonly seen around springtime. If you look closely at the shape of its leaves, you'll notice they resemble hearts. Seeing shepherd's purse in the warm spring season, amidst green meadows, always brings a sense of joy. It's a scene I've long wished to capture in a design.
In Japan, the plant is called "penpen草" (penpen-gusa) because when you rub it between your palms, it makes a "penpen" sound. As children, we often played by making it sound "penpen."

Please note that as each item is hand-dyed by artisans, the color and pattern may vary from product to product.
*Please be aware that handmade items may have slight variations in weaving or dyeing.
*As we also use natural dyes and hand-dyeing, the colors will fade over time with use, developing a unique character. We kindly ask for your understanding of these characteristics of hand-dyed fabric before making a purchase.
*Colors may bleed, so we recommend hand-washing separately and then lightly wringing out the garment before drying it in the shade.
*In the beginning, even when dry, please be cautious of color transfer to lighter-colored clothing or bags.
*Please use a detergent without fluorescent brighteners. We recommend using a neutral detergent.
*The garment may shrink slightly after washing. Please do not use a dryer.
