This Buddha statue originates from a collapsed pagoda in the Mandalay region of Myanmar.
Crafted from a bronze alloy.
It depicts the Buddha in a serene half-lotus seated posture, with his hand raised in the Vitarka Mudra, symbolizing the transmission of teachings.
The estimated age is the 18th century (dealers who brought it to Taiwan believed it to be even older...).
However, having handled artifacts for many years, it is prudent to provide a slightly more conservative estimate.
The original sealing clay at the base of the statue remains intact.
The total height, including the base, is 20.5 cm.
The exterior has undergone cleaning,
removing most of the hardened, cement-like soil that adhered to the bronze Buddha.
