A plant that has grown wild in Japan since ancient times and bears glossy purple fruit is the "Murasakishikibu (Beautiful Japanese Berry)." The Japanese maple tree produces pale pink flower lover during the flowering season from June to July, and then produces beautiful, glossy purple fruits in the autumn from September to November. The scientific name is "Callicarpa japonica", which comes from the Greek words "callos" (beautiful) and "carpos" (fruit), and is derived from the beautiful colored fruit it bears. In English, it is also known as "Japanese beautyberry." The flower lover of "Murasakishikibu (Beautiful Bark of Murasaki)" includes "intelligence," "elegance," and "good at being loved." It is said that the flower lover of "intelligence" and "elegance" come from Murasaki Shikibu, who was also famous for her intelligence, and "good at being loved" are derived from her book, "The Tale of Genji."
