This furoshiki, adorned with a goldfish motif painted by Kutani ware artist Yukiya Shibata, captures the graceful movement of fish in water. Each piece is then meticulously hand-dyed by artisans from a century-old Kyoto workshop, resulting in vibrant colors and exquisite texture.
mashu is the in-house brand of Kyoto's Babazome Kobo. Established in Fushimi, Kyoto, in the second year of the Taisho era (1913), even today, all products are individually hand-dyed by craftsmen using traditional katagami (stencil dyeing) techniques.
