KAVALAN: 3952 Old Goat - Natural Lacquer Pen. Red natural lacquer is layered with transparent lacquer and multiple coatings to create the distinctive Akazonae color. Akazonae refers to a type of military unit formation during Japan's Sengoku period, where troops were distinguished by red-lacquered armor, flags, and even weapons. This designation, representing the element of "fire," was applied to elite assault units and the armor of samurai. The original Kai Akazonae was founded by Tōsuke Obu, a retainer of Takeda Shingen, and thus Akazonae became synonymous with the Takeda clan's forces. This pen features black reinforced polymer components and a special spring-loaded clip design. The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) rose gold steel nib, available in Extra Fine (EF), Fine (F), Medium (M), and Broad (B). It offers more flexibility than typical market nibs, providing a responsive writing experience that allows you to express your unique style. For smaller or tighter handwriting, we recommend the EF or F nib. If you prefer larger script or are looking for a reliable pen for signatures, the M or B nib would be suitable.
