Special Edition Asanoha Pattern Art Wallet Italian Buttero Navy × Japanese Calf - Wallets - Genuine Leather Blue

Product Description

Extra Edition “Basic” Art Wallet A further special edition beyond the original Extra Edition “Basic” Art Wallet. Presenting the Extra Edition “Asanoha Pattern” Basic Art Wallet — a piece that perfectly balances beauty and functionality. A historic Japanese geometric pattern × Premium Italian Buttero leather × High-quality Japanese leather shaped into flowing curves These three elements come together to create this special wallet. ⸻ What is the Asanoha Pattern? The Asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern has been used since the Heian period to decorate Buddhist statues. During the Edo period, it became widely popular as a kimono motif, and even today it remains one of Japan’s most iconic traditional patterns, found in various products across generations. ⸻ Italian Buttero Leather × Japanese Calf Leather Buttero leather is a vegetable-tanned (oiled) leather produced in Tuscany, Italy, by a small tannery called Walpier. It is made from the shoulder of adult cattle (steer), a limited and highly prized area of the hide, known for its density and strength. Crafted using traditional Tuscan vegetable tanning methods passed down for generations, and dyed with natural materials such as plant extracts and tree bark, it offers an authentic, warm, and organic leather character. The greatest appeal of Buttero leather is, without question, its beautiful aging process. Because of its tightly packed fibers, it absorbs plant oils deeply over time. With careful use, the oils gradually rise to the surface, creating a dynamic and elegant evolution of color and luster unlike ordinary leather. For this model, we have selected Navy for the exterior to maximize the beauty of aging. Inside, we use domestically produced vegetable-tanned calf leather with a refined wax finish. The contrast between Navy and Red evolves beautifully over time, creating a rich difference in tone and texture. As it ages, the wallet continues to reveal new expressions, leaving no room for monotony. By merging the traditional Asanoha motif, European leather craftsmanship, and modern curved design, this wallet evokes a unique atmosphere reminiscent of Japan’s Taisho era — a time when diverse cultures intersected and a new age began. ⸻ Functionality Size Designed with minimal waste in both height and width, the wallet remains compact enough to fit comfortably into clothing pockets. Coin Case Features a box-type coin compartment — widely regarded as the easiest style for access in bi-fold wallets. The lid also includes a small pocket for storing tickets and other small items. Bill Compartment Includes a divider for organizing receipts and banknotes. ⸻ Dimensions Height: 9.8 cm Width: 10.8 cm Thickness: 1.6 cm (when closed) ⸻ Specifications Card slots: 6 Coin capacity: Large Bill compartments: 2 Ticket pocket: 1 ⸻ Materials Exterior: Buttero leather (Italy) with geometric pattern Interior: Calf leather (Japan) Lining: Polyester shantung Thread: Spun thread Hardware: Prym brass snap
