Large Cat Bag: Gray Knit Patchwork

I fell in love with this fabric—it has a warm texture and a wonderful random patchwork—and created this cat bag right away. This one is larger than my standard cat bags and has a gusseted bottom. The concept behind this bag is "Going out with your cat." I hope you take this cat, which has such a warm, cuddly feel, out and about with you everywhere! The outer fabric is a soft knit. I wanted to preserve the delicate texture, so I did not use a stiff interlining. Instead, I made the inner lining from sturdy denim to ensure the bag keeps its shape. The bag itself is cat-shaped, silhouetted like a cat. The handles are not long enough for shoulder carrying. The face is stuffed with cotton, making that part three-dimensional and puffy. It includes one inner pocket. Since the patchwork fabric is random, the pattern placement differs depending on where it's cut. I have made several of these, so please understand that the color and arrangement of the patchwork will be different for each piece. The overall look and feel, however, is the same (please refer to the last photo). The photos from the second to the fourth-to-last show examples of items like a 500ml plastic bottle and a pouch, both laid out next to the bag and placed inside.
