These are ancient carnelian beads unearthed in Myanmar.
They belong to the Pyu to Samon period.
The beads are slightly octagonal in shape.
They feature the common Crossed-Mandala motif,
along with lightning patterns symbolizing lightning,
or sun patterns representing sun rays.
This motif is speculated to be a sun pattern.
Crafted from carnelian, a large crystal inclusion is present. The entire bead has undergone subterranean transformation, showing signs of greyish mineralization, scale-like patterns, earth erosion, and pitting characteristic of buried artifacts.
************************
Ancient beads originally held significant religious and protective meaning.
