Writing brushes: “Little Tzu-ying” and “Emperor Million Years”- these two writing brushes are both replicas of the Museum’s collections. The brush itself is made of rare purple hair mostly covered with a layer of goat’s hair making it very durable. The quality of this writing brush is very high; it is quick to draw draw back from the stroke and holds its ink well. It’s definitely worth a try!
Inkstick: The inkstick is handmade from charcoal and impressed with the five Chinese characters meaning “True pleasure means being in harmony with one’s friends.” The color of ink-stick and be adjusted with the addition of other ingredients.
Inkdtone: The decoration on the inkstone is adopted from patterns on Emperor Ch’ien-lung’s “Pine-rock Inkstone with Lotus and Pond”-a piece in the Museum. The lustrous quality of the stone makes it great for producing ink.
Brush-rest: Green jade is the main material to make the brush-rest giving it antique elegance.
