Local jade beads from Myanmar.
Excavated from collapsed stupas in the Mandalay and Bagan regions.
Estimated to be from the 18th-19th century.
The color is quite similar to pickled cucumber.
There are very shallow drill holes at both ends, but they do not go through.
Unlike common bead ornaments that are already drilled for stringing, these were typically used as decorative jewels inlaid onto Buddha statues, deities, or stupas.
The bead body is largely intact, with only a few small pits.
Made of local jade material, the texture is soft enough to be carved.
They can be professionally drilled to be fashioned into conventional ancient bead ornaments for wear.
************************
Ancient beads originally held significant religious protective meaning and purpose.
During challenging times, wearing an old protective bead can help regulate energy fields and strengthen fortune.
By reciting scriptures and mantras, practicing charity, and releasing captive animals, one can naturally avert misfortune.
