IG: manmankogin.handmade ❉❉❉ Story of Kogin❉❉❉ Kogin (こぎん刺し Kogin zashi) is an embroidery technique from the Tsugaru region of Aomori, Japan. Due to the regulations at the time, farmers were prohibited from using cotton fabrics and were required to wear work clothes made of hemp. However, hemp could not withstand the cold weather of the Northeast, so they used thread to stitch through the holes in the hemp fabric to improve warmth, evolving into what we know today as "Kogin".
