Vintage Bavarian embossed teacup and saucer with rose design made by Rosenthal. In 1891, Phillipp Rosenthal established a factory in Asch, Bohemia. He died in 1937 and his family emigrated to escape the rise of National Socialism in Germany, but after WW2, they returned.
After years of success, the company was taken over by Wedgwood in the 1990s and eventually sold to the Italian designer kitchenware firm Sambonet. The mark at the bottom of these pieces was in use in the 1950s and 1960s. This set is in undamaged, very good condition with barely any sign of usage. The photographs are a part of the description.
