I made a notepad together with Bingata Shosho, who creates pop art using Okinawa's traditional stencil dyeing technique, Bingata. I borrowed the designs of "Anmitsu" and "Fruit Sandwich" from his representative work, "Coffee Shop Series".
The "Fruit Sandwich" comes in two designs: a fun design with colorful cross-sections arranged in a regular pattern, which has also been used as a masking tape pattern, and a sandwich with fruit stuffed between soft-looking bread.
"Anmitsu" comes in two designs: a refreshing design of dancing fruits and agar, and anmitsu served in a cool-looking dish.
We carefully created this piece to capture the vivid colors and gradations that are unique to Bingata.
